If Albert Einstein had an Instagram Account

Can you imagine the emojis and the perfect picture to go with this caption:

"It is strange to be known so universally and yet to be so lonely." - Albert Einstein

I wrote about feeling lonely on Friday on my Instagram page, and I thought you might like to read my thoughts here if you missed it. I am 100% confident that you might feel the same way.

Loneliness as you innovate and build something new is not a new phenomenon. (See Al's quote above!)

Do you ever feel lonely?⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Not because of the virus - and not because you are PHYSICALLY alone. But because you feel like no one understands why you work so hard for so little. And maybe sometimes you wonder the same thing, if it’s all worth it?⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I know that feeling. And if your work, your side hustle, your labor of love brings you tremendous joy and hope, then I want to encourage you to keep going.
⠀⠀
How? Well, try these 3 actions I took that made all of the difference in the world to help me push through the times I felt stuck:⠀⠀
⠀⠀
1. Find your optimum work time.
⠀⠀
For years, I burned the midnight oil to get projects done and ready to ship out. Unfortunately, that was counter-productive and left me exhausted and feeling UNPRODUCTIVE and frustrated.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
One day I said, no more: I’m going to bed early and and I’m getting up early. I flip-flopped my schedule and I got more done in the first two hours of the morning than I used to finish in 4-5 hours in the evening.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
2. Find a Friend / Business Group.
⠀⠀
I get it. You are nervous someone is going to steal all of your ideas. But I have news for you: almost everything has already been done, thought of, acted upon. There is nothing new under the sun!⠀⠀
⠀⠀
What is new is our approach, our innovation, our “twist.” And the fastest way to innovation is collaboration or brainstorming with another entrepreneur. Find a business bestie. ASAP.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
3. Take a Break.
⠀⠀
It feels counter-intuitive to take a break when you feel overwhelmed. But if you’re anything like me, you feel guilty when you are working and the electronics are babysitting your kids.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
You don’t have to feel guilty! You CAN have it both ways! Take a break, step away from the work, schedule in the play or husband time if you need to, but take a break.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
It will refresh you, energize you and lift off the heavy weight of guilt and shame that we put on ourselves as we battle competing priorities.⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Can you relate, my friend? I’d love to know if this encouraged or helped you in any way!

Is there something here that you can implement this week? Let me know! You can catch me via email, crystal@thesocialsolopreneur.com ... see you next time!
